Case for Support
Our innovative approach to public education and our culture of A Disciplined Life is preparing students every year to succeed in college and in life. At Perspectives, we graduate over 85% of students, with over 90% of those students enrolling in college. Even more impressive is the fact that 87% of our alumni are still in college after three years.
Public funding alone does not supply the resources needed to provide all of our students with the very best education possible. When we open new schools, we start with a small group of students, adding one grade each year until we reach full enrollment. This ramp-up period, while highly beneficial to our students, produces a large gap between the amount of funding we receive from public sources and the funding we need to serve our students. Thus, we depend on foundations, corporations and generous individuals to support the continued success of our students and our schools.
In the 2009-2010 school year, we will have close to 1,800 students, increasing each year by grade level until we are fully enrolled in the 2011-2012 school year. At that time, economies of scale will enable us to operate on public funds alone.
Until that time, we are committed to providing the same quality education to as many Chicago students as possible, and do so knowing that we have a sustainable model which can change the lives of students and families for generations to come.
