Graduate Anthony Davis in ESPN the Magazine
Perspectives Rodney D. Joslin Campus 2011 graduate Anthony Davis is NEXT...according to ESPN the Magazine. The talented basketball star, currently a freshman attending the University of Kentucky, has been all over the news in past months for his skills on the court.
As ESPN's Elena Bergeron reports, "Although he got offers to spend his senior year at Chicago's public school powerhouses, Davis decided to stay at Perspectives Charter School, where he averaged 32 points, 22 rebounds and seven blocks per game."
He was named "Freshman of the Week" by the SEC January 16, 2012 and went on the next night to score a career-high of 27 points while blocking 7 shots to set a school season record in an 86-63 victory over the University of Arkansas.
Perspectives coach Cortez Hale was interviewed back in December and admitted he knew Anthony was going to be good. "I've seen him play ball since his sophomore year... I've seen the way he grew from being 6'3" to 6'10"...There's a lot more coming from Anthony Davis that you guys can't wait to see."
We'll continue to watch as Anthony Davis achieves his dream.
