How do we evaluate living A Disciplined Life©?
Living A Disciplined Life© is evaluated through two main assessments: what we call Culture Walks and Summit Projects.
What is a Culture Walk?
Culture Walks are an important practice at Perspectives. Administrative teams and/or teacher teams regularly perform Culture Walks. During a Culture Walk, each team visits several classrooms and observes the students and teacher, making notes about their observations. The team then collectively evaluates each classroom and the school overall based on their observations. These Culture Walks provide critical feedback that helps guide how we develop our culture of excellence. The Culture Walk rubric is one of several rubrics used to gather data and feedback.
What is Summit Project?
The Summit Project provides students an opportunity to demonstrate their social emotional development. Quarterly, students will select one A Disciplined Life© principle to study. Students will reflect on their connections to the selected principle and, during Summit Week, students will share how they have explored and developed a deeper connection with the principle in their life.
Please check back in November to view examples of this quarter's Summit Projects.
