Field Studies
Forty Perspectives students traveled to Washington, D.C., to witness the historic inauguration of President Barack Obama, for what was perhaps the most important Field Study Perspectives students have ever been on. Perspectives has always been dedicated to exposing students to their community and the resources of the city. Field Studies are academically based trips that take students out of the classroom to apply their learning and further their understanding. Your gift of $50 can pay for Field Studies for a student for one year.

Math & Literacy Instruction All students at Perspectives have two periods of math and literacy every day. With many students coming to our schools two or more years below grade level, this additional time is vital in preparing our students for college. A $5,000 investment would help support the additional time our students need to succeed.

Sponsor a Student All of the programs listed above are key aspect to the Perspectives Difference. While you would not see most of this work being done in traditional Chicago Public Schools, we know it is key to truly preparing our students for success in college and in life. When our schools are fully-enrolled, we spend $10,000 per student, each year to provide them with a Perspectives education.

A Disciplined Life In addition to being the foundation upon which all Perspectives schools are built, A Disciplined Life is also a daily class at Perspectives. This additional and important class period requires more expert teachers in our schools. A gift of $2,000 goes a long way toward covering that added cost.
